Consumer Rights and Distance Selling Policy
Last updated: 13/04/2026
1. Overview
This policy outlines how RevvMarket aligns with the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
RevvMarket operates as a peer-to-peer marketplace. Contracts for sale are formed directly between buyers and sellers.
2. Role of RevvMarket
RevvMarket acts as an intermediary platform and is not the seller of goods listed. Responsibility for compliance with consumer law rests with the individual seller.
3. Consumer Rights Act 2015
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods must be:
- As described;
- Of satisfactory quality;
- Fit for purpose.
These obligations apply to sellers. Buyers may have legal rights against sellers if these standards are not met.
4. Distance Selling Regulations
Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, consumers purchasing from traders may have the right to cancel orders within 14 days.
However:
- These rights generally do not apply to private individual sellers;
- Most transactions on RevvMarket are between private individuals.
Where a seller is acting in the course of business, they are responsible for complying with these regulations.
5. Right to Cancel
Where applicable (i.e. trader-to-consumer sales):
- Buyers may cancel within 14 days of receiving goods;
- Buyers must return goods in their original condition;
- Refunds must be issued within 14 days of receiving returned goods.
6. Returns and Refunds on RevvMarket
Unless required by law:
- Returns are not automatically accepted;
- Refunds are handled through the Buyer Protection Policy;
- Sellers are not obligated to accept returns for change of mind.
7. Disputes
Buyers are encouraged to resolve issues through RevvMarket's dispute resolution system. Nothing in this policy limits statutory rights under applicable law.
8. Compliance
Sellers are responsible for ensuring they comply with all applicable consumer protection laws. RevvMarket reserves the right to take action against accounts that fail to comply.
